Manage the mandatory documentation of your machines

Which obligations does the new legislation introduce?

What is the importer’s obligation?
- Ensure that the machine is accompanied by the EU declaration of conformity, all the technical documentation and the CE marking
- Ensure that the machine is accompanied by the required documents
- Ensure that the manufacturer has included the machine and the manufacturer’s identification details
- Ensure that the machine is accompanied by information for use
- Attach the identification of the importer (postal address, web address, and email)
- Inform the authorities when the machine presents a risk to the health and safety of people
- Withdrawal or recovery of products that do not comply with essential health and safety requirements
- Keep a copy of the EU Declaration of Conformity for 10 years
What is the obligation of the representative?
- Maintain the EU declaration of conformity and the technical documentation for at least 10 years
What is the importer’s obligation?
- Ensure that the machine is accompanied by the EU declaration of conformity, all the technical documentation and the CE marking
- Ensure that the machine is accompanied by the required documents
- Ensure that the manufacturer has included the machine and the manufacturer’s identification details
- Ensure that the machine is accompanied by information for use

What is the obligation of the distributor?
- Check that the machine bears the CE marking and the EU declaration of conformity
- Check that the machine is accompanied by the instruction manual or information for use and the identification data of the manufacturer and importer
- Withdrawal or recovery of products which do not comply with the essential health and safety requirements
- Inform the manufacturer or importer (and the competent authorities) where the machinery presents a risk to human health and safety
